Pharmacy First explained: seven conditions, no GP appointment
Our pharmacists can assess and treat seven common conditions on the NHS. Here is exactly how it works.

Pharmacy First lets community pharmacists assess and, where appropriate, supply prescription medicine for seven defined conditions without you needing to see a GP first.
The conditions covered are earache, sore throat, infected insect bites, impetigo, shingles, sinusitis and urinary tract infections in women aged 16 to 64.
Consultations happen in a private room and the outcome is sent back to your GP practice, so your record stays complete.
There is no charge if you would normally get free NHS prescriptions, and most people are seen the same day.
